to tasteadditional Oreo cookies for optional topping
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the finely crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter. Stir until all the cookie crumbs are fully coated in butter, forming a moist mixture.
Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang. Evenly press the Oreo mixture into the bottom of the dish, ensuring it's compact and flat. Set aside to firm up.
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until it becomes creamy and smooth, free of lumps.
Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar and vanilla extract into the cream cheese, continuing to mix until the ingredients are fully combined and the mixture is smooth.
Carefully fold in the whipped cream using a rubber spatula, mixing until no streaks remain.
Pour the prepared cheesecake filling over the crust in the baking dish, using a spatula to gently smooth the top for an even layer.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours, allowing the cheesecake to set completely.
Once the cheesecake is firmly set, lift it out of the dish using the parchment paper overhang and place it on a cutting board. Carefully cut into bars and sprinkle with additional crushed Oreo cookies on top if desired.
Notes
Serve the cheesecake bars on an elegant platter and garnish with whipped cream and crushed Oreos.
