In a large pot, bring a generous amount of water to a rapid boil. Once boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions (usually 3-4 minutes). After cooking, carefully drain the noodles and set them aside for later use.
In the same pot, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Allow it to melt until it starts bubbling gently, ensuring it doesn’t brown too much.
Once the butter is bubbling, add the minced garlic to the pot. Cook the garlic for about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it becomes fragrant and turns a light golden color. Be cautious not to let it burn, as burnt garlic can impart a bitter taste.
If you opted for a bit of heat, sprinkle the red pepper flakes into the garlic butter and sauté for an additional 30 seconds, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Gently add the cooked ramen noodles back into the pot. Using tongs or a fork, toss the noodles thoroughly in the garlic butter mixture until they are evenly coated.
Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, followed by a dash of salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Continue to toss the noodles until all ingredients are well combined and the noodles are warmed through.
Remove the pot from heat, and fold in the sliced green onions to add a fresh, crisp flavor to the dish.
Transfer the garlicky noodles to serving bowls. For an added touch, garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or parsley, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the deliciousness!
Notes
Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
